City Celebrates Year One Success of Corridor Beautification Partnership, Announces Year Two Funding Availability

The Corridor Beautification Partnership matching grant program was established to increase the economic vitality and aesthetic appearance of the Texas Avenue Corridor. In year one of the partnership, high impact matching grants totaling $75,719 were awarded to Manuel & Theresa’s School of Hair Design and Buddy’s Appliances. Both awards were based on the high impact revitalization and development of properties in the corridor by leading commercial businesses in Bryan.

“The City of Bryan is dedicated to a partnership approach with commercial property owners and local businesses in order to stimulate economic prosperity and enhance the beauty of our City. Both Manuel & Theresa’s School of Hair Design and Buddy’s Appliances are long-time businesses of Bryan. We extend a big thank you to both on their commitment to doing business here in Bryan through their participation in the Texas Avenue Corridor Beautification Partnership,” said Mayor Andrew Nelson.

“Manuel & Theresa’s School of Hair Design is grateful to the City of Bryan for their support. We are now complete with our new school location and are very proud. The City’s beautification matching grant funds helped make the difference, our landscaping and parking are beautiful!” shared Crystal Rodriguez Burgess.

As a result of the year one success, the Bryan City Council approved year two funding for the partnership matching grant. An informational session will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers of the Bryan Municipal Office Building located at 300 South Texas Avenue.
